Coming from a family of farmers from the lower Alps, Nathalie Pacioselli created Domaine Saint Jean with her husband Jean-Patrick, a niçois who is in love with his terroir. In 2001, the Human Resources graduate and the Ecole des Travaux Publics engineer returned to school in Beaune to get the Professional Certificate granting them the agricultural capacity. A small plot of land rented in 2006 allowed them to take their first steps in the wine world. Then, 2 ha of fallow land bought in 2007 were prepared and planted in 2008-2009. In 2018, the Pouncia plots complete the estate which is where the winery got transferred. Today, the production contains 50 hl, in the three colours of the A.O.P. Bellet. The harvest is manual. The Li Vecce cuvée, a white wine vinified and aged on fine lees for 12 months, and the Ichtus cuvée, a white wine aged in terracotta amphora, extend the “classic” production of white, red and rosé wines. Certified organic since 2013, the estate obtained its first Gold Medal at the “Concours Général Agricole de Paris” in 2014, followed by numerous other awards at the International Wine Competitions of Lyon, Mâcon and Elle à Table. The Ichthus cuvée was 2019 Terre des Vins’ favourite wine.
