Nicolas Cohendet, is a passionate person… His professional careers prove it. When his father Robert Cohendet asked for his help with the vineyard that his wife Yanick inherited, he has always been curious and assiduous. Together they decided to continue the hereditary work of Via Julia Augusta and bring modernity and technicality to the vineyard. The young Nicolas takes up the game with enthusiasm and sees the idea of perfecting and innovating as a challenge. When his father withdraws and leaves him in charge, Nicolas decides to preserve the authenticity and typicity of the terroir, according to the climatic contribution of each year. In the cellar, near the old Roman road “Via Julia Augusta” which borders the property, the traditional vinification and ageing is done in oak barrels. Let’s hope that, under Nicolas’ leadership, Via Julia Augusta will become a traditional, personal and elegant cru.
